David DuChemin is one of my favorite photographers/people. He is the founder of a eBook company called Craft & Vision which sells super helpful titles at only $5 a piece. There are a few free titles, but this one just came up. The book is called "Ten ways to improve your craft without buying gear". Check it.

002 : ABANDONED - AUGUST 2013 PHOTO CHALLENGE
I have personally always been emotionally moved by places or things that once have held or supported life but now have been left to deteriorate and waste away. In this "disposable society" we live in, it seems that more and more of what we create ends up lost and forgotten. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm excited to see what you come up with!
Think outside of the box, don't just jump towards the obvious. Keep your eyes peeled for a couple weeks, and let your imagination wander. Plan your shot! Don't be afraid to come back to your scene when the light suits it best, but also don't expect for the subject of your photograph to be there later. Best of luck!
